We sat down with Evil Geniuses member Ediz "goodfornothing" Basol ahead of his side's semi-final clash with Na´Vi.
The American team are about to take on Na´Vi in the first semi-final here, at the Extreme Masters World Championship, and Basol, who joined EG in November, had some words of praise for his opponents, but fancied his side's chances.
"I'm actually pretty impressed by how they have been playing this tournament, that being said I guess we're still happier to play them than a team like mousesports, I think we can counter how they play really well, but they have a lot of raw skill, markeloff has got a great AWP and Edward is really good with the rifles, so we are not taking them lightly," he told HLTV.org.
"We had two days off, because we finished our group first, which is kind of a good thing, kind of a bad thing, we have been sitting at home, watching a lot of matches, and kind of getting ourselves mentally prepared. Other than that, we have just been trying to relax and get ourselves pumped up for this match."
Yegor "markeloff" Markelov claimed he would teach Danny "fRoD" Montaner, Evil Geniuses' AWPer, some things in this match, but Basol believes the Ukrainian will walk out of the encounter disappointed.
"I'm glad he said that, because fRoD is really pumped up now, I think he is gonna see he is not quite on that level yet, because Danny's AWP is pretty incredible, we are gonna see in this match who the best AWPer is, so it's gonna be fun," he said.
Should Evil Geniuses beat Na´Vi, Basol says his team would like to have another chance to beat fnatic following the controversy in the group match, saying: "We want to prove it was not some fluke, we want to have another chance to beat them, on a best-of-three, and prove ourselves."
